La cappella rappresenta la scena in cui Gesù viene rimosso dalla croce da Giovanni d'Arimatea con Nicodemo, l'apostolo Giovanni e le pie donne. Nel 1603 il vescovo Bascapè previde la realizzazione di questa cappella che venne costruita nel quarto decennio del Seicento. Giovanni d'Enrico, con la collaborazione di Giacomo Ferro e della sua equipe, plasmò le statue tra il 1637 e il 1640 circa, mentre la decorazione pittorica è opera di Melchiorre Gherardini, detto "il Ceranino" (1641-1642 circa). ? Anche questa ripresa è stata effettuata dall'esterno della cappella, visibile attraverso delle inferriate
