Zoom with microscope lens sent on August 23, 2020 (16:05) by Luciano Bersani. 3 comments, 434 views. [retina]

at 29mm, 1/30 f/4.5, ISO 200, hand held.

Interesting assembly of optics!
I wanted to know what advantage you have with this combination of optics.
The olympus optics seem to me to be the 40-150 that I own, while the microscope optics that focal it has?

I don't know the focal point of the msiplan 5x correct for infinity (?, if there's the question mark the infinite character isn't recognized), but based on the bellows targets it should beat around 35mm. In this case I have an empirically measured RR of 3.8:1, also because the Olympus requires a "tube lens" of 180mm. The vignette is strong and it is better to use lenses with less magnification rather than greater.

Ah, the advantage, in this case, is to be able to do focus bracketing (commonly called stacking, but not in Olympus) automatically. From first-hand experience the lenses that require a "tube lens" of greater focal point (200mm) have a very strong vignette (a circle in practice), so better to stay on Olympus.
