I suspect the loss of sharpness is due to the Schneider lens. It is not used in the optimum magnification range (>1X) so there is a noticeable loss of sharpness at the edges of the image. Same thing also happened here: www.juzaphoto.com/galleria.php?l=en&t=218573

This year I intend to use another lens for lower magnification images.
