Val di Non, Trentino. Nell'estate del primo lockdown ho visitato, tra gli altri bellissimi luoghi e territori della Val di Non, questa splendida dimora la cui cappella più antica risale all'XI secolo. Si racconta che l'eremita Romedio di Thaur che si insediò e a cui fa riferimento tutto il santuario stratificato, addomesticò l'orso che lo assalì sbranando il cavallo che lo portava. E' un luogo di pellegrinaggio famoso per la pratica dell'ex voto ovvero l'impegno che il credente assume nei confronti di Dio nella speranza esaudisca le sue richieste, una sorta di ringraziamento per una grazia ricevuta. Una tipica attitudine di chi ha fede. Un po' come, al contrario di quanto si poteva credere, una fetta molto grande della popolazione all'indomani della pandemia ha deciso di riaffidarsi a cure pseudoscientifiche o persino completamente immaginarie in una sorte di rifiuto della scienza, una sorta di nuova fede nelle più improbabili forme di guarigioni fai da te. Un ex voto a Dio o a nuovi messia alternativi all'alba del terzo millennio.
