La Jaguar XK 120 fu prodotta dal 1948 al 1954 nelle versioni Coupè, cabriolet e Roadster... questa nella fotografia... anche denominata OTS (Open Two Seater = aperta a due posti). Inizialmente aveva la carrozzeria in alluminio ma dal 1950 codesta venne costruita in acciaio. Era dotata di un motore con 6 cilindri in linea... con un doppio albero a camme in testa... di 3442 cm3 erogante oltre 160 cavalli di potenza che poi nel tempo aumentarono fino a 213. Erano disponibili pure propulsori maggiorati prima a 3800 cm3 e poi a 4200 cm3. La sigla 120 è riferita alla velocità massima della vettura espressa in miglia... che corrispondono ad oltre 190 chilometri orari. La Jaguar XK 120 partecipò a moltissime competizioni ed in chiusura si può ricordare che una di queste vetture... in versione Coupé... viaggiò per un'intera settimana (giorno e notte) mantenendo una media di oltre 160 chilometri orari di velocità massima.
