The beautiful sky of the evening of July 19 convinced me to attempt a more classic shot of the comet, taking advantage of the brightness of the 400mm f / 2.8 lens on the full frame SLR. To take the best opportunity I went to a hill in my area, about 800 meters above sea level in the province of Macerata (ITALY), to get away sufficiently from light pollution. The comet was immediately visible at 10 pm, this photo was obtained by averaging 12 images of 30 seconds of exposure at 800 ISO. In the field, immersed in the dust tail, the galaxy NGC2841 is visible in the Ursa Major, 48 million light years away, against the approximately 6 light minutes of the comet. The intricate and very extensive gas tail (blue) is also visible. Sore point: embarrassing the amount of artificial satellites that plowed through my images during the poses, fortunately attenuated a lot by processing ... (one day someone will explain to me who sold the sky to Elon Musk and why I couldn't sell it I)...
