Monumentale abbeveratoio costruito dal 1649 al 1652 è noto localmente come «Vintiquattru cannola», per via delle ventiquattro cannelle bronzee da cui fuoriesce ininterrottamente la copiosa acqua che si versa nella vasca sottostante. Un cronista del Settecento scrive che la Granfonte è stata esemplata su una fontana di Amsterdam, più verosimilmente l'opera, attribuibile al noto architetto palermitano M. Smiriglio, si rifà alle numerose incisioni di artisti fiamminghi allora molto diffuse nell'Isola.
