Siamo arrivati a El Chaltén, nella Patagonia meridionale Argentina, dopo quasi 30 ore di viaggio. Eravamo stanchi, ma felici e pieni di energia positiva. Il cielo era terso in serata, si vedevano le stelle, e non c'era un filo di vento. Abbiamo quindi deciso di tentare la fortuna, e dopo pochissime ore di sonno, nel bel mezzo della notte abbiamo iniziato il nostro percorso verso la Laguna Torre nel Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, con temperature fortemente sotto zero. Dopo circa due ore e mezzo abbiamo raggiunto la laguna nel buio, sempre accompagnati una maestosa Via Lattea sopra di noi. Quella notte rimarrà sempre nei nostri cuori. Non importa il freddo, le mani gelide, non importa la sonnolenza. Ci sentivamo così privilegiati di essere lì in quel momento, con silenzio e rispetto verso il Cerro Torre di fronte a noi.
