, 1/200 f/4.0, ISO 5000, hand held. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda. Specie: Gorilla beringei

A very close encounter and beautiful shot, I have no idea how dangerous it passes to be (I have never seen them) and how they can be photographed, however compliments and we hope that they can reduce these massacres .

You can easily know if it's him or not. The Gorilla Trekking Certificate shows the group of gorillas you've seen. If your certificate indicates that they accompanied you to the group Nkuringo , then it is Rafiki.

but come on, I hadn't thought of it! I just checked and we had met the Bushaho group ;-) , then it is not him, meagre consolation :-( Thank you!

When the sighting of such a proud and distrustful animal, one must feel an intense emotion. Then give him such a beautiful portrait in the dense jungle will have given you a great satisfaction and an indelible memory. Let us remember that the gorilla is not dangerous if in its habitat you behave discreetly and respectfully... the only "evolved" and dangerous animal is man, who, in order to impose his dominion over Nature, has brought this species on the road to extinction.

Image that had escaped me, but this morning admiring it my day is more beautiful. Remarkable shot also for the objective logistical and subject difficulties, technically then impeccable. Exciting even for those who can never be in those places.

:-o :-o :-o I also hope one day to be able to see and photograph such a beauty; inspires power in its purest state, but also a lot of fragility... who knows how much emotion ... congratulations on the shot :-)
