In primo piano il pozzo del XVI sec. (ma il frontone risale al 1767, come si legge nell'iscrizione in cifre romane); e un gruppo di turisti il cui "Cicerone", nell'atto di ragguagliare la comitiva sugli edifici della piazza, parlava spagnolo. Sullo sfondo, da sinstra a destra: Loggia degli Osii (XIV sec., pesantemente rimaneggiata nei secoli successivi e l'attuale configurazione risale al 1903-4). Palazzo delle Scuole Palatine (inizio XVII sec.). Oltre l'angolo è la Casa dei Panigarola (ricostruzione dell'inizio del XX sec. con parti di antichi edifici demoliti). Sulla destra si intravede il Palazzo della Ragione (XIII sec., sopralzato e pesantemente rimaneggiato nei secoli successivi) "impacchettato" per il restauro.
