Gerardo, originario di Pescasseroli, vive a Belforte con la famiglia da più di trent'anni dove si trasferirono perchè dediti al taglio del legname. Fumatore accanito, lo si trova sulla panchina quasi tutti i pomeriggi quando la stagione calda si avvicina. Passare del tempo con Gerardo significa immergersi in un turbine di racconti della lontana terra d' Abruzzo specie quando si parla della sua ricetta per fare l'amatriciana.
