D'inverno la stube era l'unica stanza riscaldata di tutta la casa. È ricoperta completamente in legno per isolarla meglio. I contadini si sdraiavano sulle panche vicino e sopra la stufa. Il tavolo da pranzo si trova nel cosiddetto angolo del Signore, riccamente decorato con quadri e simboli religiosi. Tutti mangiavano direttamente da una grande padella di ferro in mezzo al tavolo. Dopo mangiato si leccavano le posate per pulirle e si depositavano vicino alla finestra.
