Questo bel colibrì dalla caratteristica coda a racchetta, vive nella foresta nuvola delle Ande, dalla Bolivia fino al Venezuela, tra i 1000 e i 2200 m. di altitudine. Quando la luce colpisce col giusto angolo le piume della sua gola, questa si accende in tutta la sua iridescente bellezza!
