Stava seduto fermo da ore, sembrava dormisse, eppure gli occhi non erano del tutto chiusi. Mi sono seduto al suo stesso scalino, all'ingresso del monastero di Giantse, e per un lungo momento l'ho fissato, ma lui nessun cenno, continuava a tenere chino il capo. Dopo un lungo quarto d'ora ho realizzato che quel monaco, in apparenza assopito stesse invece meditando, almeno mi è piaciuto immaginare così, d'altronde eravamo in Tibet.
