I started with macro tests. Is there anyone who can comment please?

I add that the lens I just bought used and I'm not sure it works at its best (since I'm not an expert). This is a Nikon 105 f2.8 VR

The idea is good on a subject in itself simple. Nice pattern of red, but I would have closed the diaphragm more to have more sharpness. Maybe put the shot data next time. A greeting

f22 1/125 ... and it doesn't close!!! that's why I'm worried that the goal isn't ok!!!

Beautiful and particular in the composition but, there is no sharpness that you would expect from your lens... I'd do some F/8 tests, moving you a little further away and seeing if you recover in sharpness. Another thing, you don't say if you used the tripod because freehand it's easy to have micro choppy. Give don't get discouraged and do different tests at different openings and with manual focus. Good luck! Hello,Seba :-)

You are on the right track Mauela, the frame is great to have nice details on the petals, as Sebastiano told you try f/8. Maybe use the tripod and the wire control, or the selfie.
The goal you've bought is great, one of the most reliable and popular you can find.
Compliments. ;-)
A flower greeting.

Thank you all for your advice. However, I returned the target until in time, given the indecision... I will try again in the future with macro experiences.
Thank you again. ;-)
