Piuro, piccolo comune della Val Bregaglia. Il torrente Acquafraggia nasce dal pizzo di Lago a 3050 msm. Scendendo verso il fondovalle percorre due valli sospese, ambedue di origine glaciale, l´una sui duemila e l´altra sui mille metri di altitudine. L´Acquafraggia forma quindi una serie di cascate, di cui quelle più in basso, con il loro doppio salto sono le più suggestive. Si capisce così l´origine del nome Acqua Fraggia, da "acqua fracta", cioè torrente continuamente interrotto da cascate.
