La Plus 8 venne costruita dalla Morgan Motor Company (GB) in circa 6000 esemplari tra il 1968 ed il 2004. Mentre il telaio era di alluminio per la scocca venivano utilizzati sia l'alluminio che il legno di frassino. Nel tempo è stata dotata di differenti motorizzazioni sempre con 8 cilindri a V: nel 1968 Buick di 3500 cm3, nel 1990 Buick di 3900 cm3 e nel 1996 BMW di 4600 cm3. Per il mercato americano... severo sulle emissioni nocive... le Morgan là vendute venivano convertite per essere alimentate a gas propano. Nel 2012 venne ripresa la produzione che durò fino al 2018 e dove il motore era un BMW V8 di 4800 cm3 che sviluppava 367 cavalli. Furono allestite alcune serie speciali: nel 2003 per celebrare i 35 anni di produzione e nel 2018 60 esemplari denominati Plus 8 Speedster per celebrare la fine della produzione.
