I Gauchos (simili ai cow boy nord americani) sono caratterizzati dalla loro abilità nel cavalcare i cavalli creoli e anche dall'uso delle bolas, palline di pietra che arrotolate o legate a dei lacci di cuoio, vengono fatte roteare sopra la testa e, una volta lanciate, si arrotolano attorno alle gambe della preda.
