Questi deliziosi uccellini, si trovavano nel pieno della foresta, vicino ad una pozza di acqua stagnante in cui è arrivata un'innumerevole quantità di specie diverse di uccelli, per approfittare dell'acqua e farsi un bagno. Siamo in Guatemala, regione Petén, nel più grande Parco Nazionale chiamato Laguna del Tigre. Mi sono recato in questa zona e sono rimasto due giorni in mezzo alla foresta su una rudimentale torre/capanno di osservazione per cercare di fotografare il giaguaro. Purtroppo i due giorni pieni di osservazione, in corrispondenza di questa pozza d'acqua piovana che si raccoglie naturalmente nella concavità della roccia, non sono stati sufficienti per avvistare il felino, che di solito non disdegna abbeverarsi nelle ore più calde della giornata, specialmente cuando le pozze di acqua di questo tipo non sono così frequenti.
