I luoghi sono drammaticamente immutati chissà da quando, compatibilmente coi tetti in lamiera ed altri materiali recenti come la plastica, che hanno evidentemente e molto largamente, seppur non ovunque, rimpiazzato quelli biodegradabili precedenti.
Però devo dire che là, diversamente che quassù (rispetto a loro), usano e riusano lo stesso oggetto fino al decadimento totale, un esempio che la dice lunga sulle loro condizioni sociali; non hanno invece e purtroppo una viva coscienza ecologica, perchè alla fine del ciclo di utilizzabilità gettano tutto ovunque, come fossero discariche a cielo aperto, anche in mare, come basta affacciarsi sul golfo di Guinea, colmo di plastica fuori e pure dentro l'acqua costiera.
