La ballerina spagnola (Hexabranchus sanguineus) (che letteralmente significa “sei branchie color sangue” e si riferisce alla sua colorazione rosso brillante, ma ne esiste anche una variante gialla), è un nudibranco doride della famiglia degli Hexabranchidae. Il nome comune di “ballerina spagnola” si è imposto perché il movimento vorticoso nel nuoto, e il colore rosso del mantello, ricordano i movimenti della gonna di una ballerina di flamenco; se disturbato, infatti, si allontana fluttuando elegantemente tramite delle contrazioni dei muscoli dorso-ventrali e muovendo il mantello.
