Ciao

Certainly lacks those little attentions that make the difference: the stars are not perfectly point, there is some 'noise, etc.. However I think its because he and I really like the effect of movement of clouds that seem to come from the mountain. The light of the shelter perhaps a little disturbing ', but I doubt you could do differently

Thanks for the ride ... The stars are slightly strips (especially on the left side of the photo) because I had to raise the exposure times and do not get too much of ISO and accumulate even more noise ... The more light the shelter quite disturbing but like you said I could not do otherwise.

I agree with ste77, on the whole is a shot to great effect. I should add that there is "too much snow" at the bottom of the picture, perhaps the least interesting part. hello.

it's a bit noisy to be ISO 800, shame because the place deserved it! too much exposure to create the stars a bit like this, but if you still kicked the iso guess it was worse!

perhaps enough 400 iso, how much time did you use? bell effect anke like me, cm already said a little crop on the bottom to remove a bit of snow cs to let the sky prendese the main part of the picture :)

Thank you all for the appreciation and suggestions ... I used 1'20 "is exposure, ISO 400 I would not get anything ... With regard to too much snow at the bottom, not having a bright lens with greater zoom range, I could move closer to the time of shooting, but I was afraid that the light of the refuge would give more trouble in one shot closer, in the end I had to raise the angle of the shot ... ;-)

More or less how much time you have left open? I read somewhere that the notre latitudes, the "rule of thumb" for not capturing the famous striciata of the stars due to the rotation of the earth was to take a shorter time to Tmax = 550 / F
Considering your goal F = 11/16, and considering the crop factor which, if I'm not mistaken, is about 1.5 for Nikon F = 5.16.24 you from which a maximum time of 33 sec at wide-angle and a maximum of 23 sec to target everything on the "tele" (relatively speaking)
I must say that with Canon APS-C and sigma 10-20 I applied this technique and it works. The ISO is a consequence

Grazie dell'appunto Ste77...

Thanks Ste77 memo ...
But at 23 ", since I took a 16mm, I would get a shot completely black (I say this because with 30" / 800 f2.8/ISO that was the result) unless they had at least doubled the ISO but Then the noise was so dominant that totally compromise the shot. Alas, the D90 does not hold the high ISO, so I had to choose a compromise and take the stars in light strip, which I think is the lesser evil ...

ciao

It 'a picture suggestive of light including the refuge. I think the weakness of the stellar tracks could have been turned into a strength if I had at least another 10-20 shots in order to create a fantastic star trail.

Gran bel notturno, bravo Hamlin. Ciao, Gigi.

Really good night, good Hamlin. I agree with some comments of those who preceded me, but the conditions are not always ideal, and it is good to take it anyway. Hello, Gigi.
