You have told beautifully about this place, where spirit and matter meet.
Congratulations ;-)

No it is never easy to choose the exposure times to "dose" the choppy effect; in this image as far as I'm concerned you've done an excellent job, finding the right balance to make the movement of the waves.
For the rest the composition is harmonious and balanced, I imagine it was not easy to decide where to cut to dx.
Greetings,
Simone

Here in the series of colors (personal) I put this in place of the blue :-D ;-)
As they said above I find the right shooting time for the situation, in this way you could give this slight blue tone to the waves of the sea, also the latter move the scene that if not would be too static.
I can ask you something "technical": in the vertical photos at the sea I always have a bit of difficulty with the framing, many times I keep the camera in bubble and then I cut much of the sky, or I shoot horizontally and then cropp (really too much) and the photo becomes vertical.
You behave?

ciao,
Massimo

She's beautiful to me! Great dynamism but also great elegance: the yield of the swell of the sea is perfect!
The slight blue dominant on the sea works great, precisely because it is "light", expertly dosed! :-D

Grazie a tutti.

MrGreen

Alberto grazieMrGreen

Ciao

Simone

then I confessed to St. Catherine from Genoa and Don Alberto from Mantua and they brought me back on the right path.
next gallery the path of santiago, in short :-D :-D
My response to foot on the vertical obviously referred to single shot as I think it is in this case, with joining multiple shots you open a world but you go further and on the difficult.

Thanks to both Simone and Massimo, we say that sometimes I find myself in difficulty with the crumbling lines since I have buildings in the frame and usually quite close to the margin.
This leads me to be reluctant to tilt the reflex, while I try to stay low but many times with storm surges it is not very advisable to :-D
You're right that a horizontal photo turns vertically (if it's the case) only after the pc, in fact it happened to me, but since the result I did not feel sorry I tried the same thing in a later session aware that then I would cut to make it vertical (i'm somewhat ashamed :- )

Giorgio I know for a fact that most of the shots you see on the web, those made well, of vertical photos with inevitable daisy bush/rhododendrons under the nose are all made with the technique of focus stacking and in addition are panoramic photos vertically,I think they call them vertorama :-D I don't know how they are united I never made them and I think I will never do them more for the boredom of having to join them in post production, told me about a friend of mine present here on the forum .
With the single shot you have to avoid as death the lines at the edges because they are the ones that are most affected by the wide-angle distortion.
I don't see a reason to be ashamed if you do it in complete awareness ;-)

Photos with super close subjects (some I like) but for the moment I do not.
My problem arises for the photos on the Ligurian coast, all the fault of the building abuses (some beautiful) made in the past :-D
Ok, I'm not ashamed to cut out anymore, so just today I'm having a photo printed so (horizontal-->vertical) I'll tell you then how it came :-)
Thank you Simone, have a good day ;-)

Peda, at the limit you can correct the falling lines locally, with PS, using the tool "distort" on appropriate rectangular portions: doing so opens cracks in the image that must then be filled with clone stamp or predictive fill... ;-)
This technique doesn't always work, but in many situations it helps... If you're interested, I did it for the trees in the background in this photo ([URL-] www.juzaphoto.com/gallery.php?l-it&t-3096862) because I had tilted the optical axis a lot to resume the textures in the foreground.

Thank you Alberto, you are very kind.
Here, I could prove this, the only thing that worries me is that in your example photo the trees are quite small while in the case of some larger and more detailed element maybe I would have problems with the clone stamp.
Cmq thank you, you're giving me valuable information.
PS: I just picked up the prints (56x40), I'm very excited :-)

Beautiful photo Simone, great for composition and shade. I especially like how you managed and valued the movement of the waves, congratulations.

One of those shots I'd like to take home from a trip. Congratulations Simone, beautiful idea and realization (and sense of connection between the two, which is perhaps the most important and least manifest...).
