Thank you Mirkoark. Bought it very recently, but I can already say that I am super satisfied. I recently purchased the Sony A7 RIV and I can assure you that the lens is adequate to the 61 MPixel. Grazie Mirkoark. Lo acquistato da pochissimo, ma posso già dire di essere super soddisfatto. Ho recentemente acquistato la Sony A7 RIV e ti posso assicurare che la lente è adeguata ai 61 MPixel. |

Great picture. Light and espook. The new sigma also looks very good. Do you think it's robust? Do you have rf focus issues? Unbalance the car? Hello. Enri, Inri Gran bella foto. Luce ed espo ok. Anche il nuovo sigma sembra molto valido. Ti pare robusto? Ha problemi di rf focus? Sbilancia la macchina? Ciao. Enri |

The photo is very nice. Can I ask you how it makes the sigma 24-70 at the edges? For me, yield ingess is crucial so I didn't take tamron 28-75. I've owned this lens for about 3 weeks now. For a standard zoom the sharpness is incredible, easily one of the best I have owned or used. Even on my a7RIII it resolves detail very well. Coupled with the fact that it actually renders out of focus areas very well too. Not too clinical (like the 35mm art), the specular highlights are not distracting. Bokeh balls are pretty smooth too. However from the quite extensive testing I have given it, the lens unfortunately is not perfect either. It suffers from some horrendous distortion at 24mm - made worse by the fact that it's not even uniform, it's quite moustache-like in shape. So at this moment in time especially, trying to correct this in Adobe Camera Raw is a pain since there is no lens correction profile - and when one does come out, will it fully correct the extreme distortion? The distortion turns to pincushion by 70mm however this is nowhere near as bad. Also the lens suffers from very heavy vignetting at 24mm too - quite extreme as you get into the far corners - unfortunately this only mildly improves as you stop the aperture down but again never goes away. The ability to deal with flare was a mixed bag too. In some situations it does well, however I've got a couple of shots from late night where the flare from street lights has caused two massive blobs in the centre of the frame. So as far as image quality quality goes - it's a shame it's not perfect. + sharpness + rendering - moustache distortion - flare Which means that with all of the above being said, you do need to be mindful when shooting video. Autofocus tracking in video is brilliant and works well, as does face and eye autofocus tracking on my a7RIII. My Zhiyun Weebil S also had no problems with the weight of the lens. However just be aware that the very nasty moustache-like distortion will show it's ugly head in your videos too - especially where you have horizontal lines - it's actually quite distracting. So only a 4/5 for me unfortunately. I had hoped a lot more for a newly designed Art lens. It's not the perfect landscape lens I was looking for, but I suppose for all other uses where you need a 24-70, it's the one to get. You could argue that the natural falloff etc lends itself well for portraiture. Oh I should also mention that it has an extremely good close focussing ability - so will appeal to wedding photographers (think ring shots, and other close-up detail work). |

@Giovannigts I have not done any special tests to verify the yield at the edges, however I can give you as a reference this other proof: [URL-] sonyalpha.blog/2019/12/10/sigma-24-70mm-f2-8-dg-dn-art/ where it is shown that, actually, at the edges it makes it slightly worse. I can also send you the raw of a photo taken just tonight at 70mm with the a7RIV, so maybe you realize personally how it makes. Fammi sapere, ciao |
