Nel 1993 i fratelli Wiesmann fondarono, in Germania, la Wiesmann Manufaktur Der Individualisten che produceva tettucci rigidi per vetture cabriolet. Nel 1995 tale società diventò Wiesmann Auto Sport ed iniziò a produrre vetture sportive... attività proseguita fino al 2014... anno in cui la società venne liquidata. Nel 2018 è stato annunciato un nuovo modello che dovrebbe entrare in produzione nel 2019. La GT MF 4, Coupè a 2 posti, venne prodotta dal 2005 ed era dotata di un motore BMW V8 di 4800 cm3 erogante 367 cavalli che spingevano la vettura a sfiorare i 300 chilometri orari. Per poter utilizzare il motore BMW si dovette allargare di parecchio la carrozzeria... cosa che si nota bene nella fotografia. La produzione continuò fino al 2013 con aggiornamenti nelle versioni S e Club Sport.
