Finalmente quest'anno sono riuscito a fotografare questa farfalla che avevo visto in precedenza solamente nel 2013, anno con una concentrazione di farfalle molto elevata. Brintesia circe (Fabricius, 1775) Famiglia Nymphalidae - Sottofamiglia Satyrinae - Apertura alare: Da 6,1 a 7,2 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutta Italia isole comprese, anche se manca in ampie zone dell'Italia settentrionale. - Habitat: Luoghi erbosi secchi, limitare dei boschi e radure dal livello del mare a 1800 m. - Periodo di volo: Univoltina da metà giugno ad agosto. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Varie graminacee tra cui quelle dei generi Poa, Bromus, Festuca, Lolium e Brachypodium. - Dimorfismo sessuale: La femmina è simile al maschio, ma leggermente più grande e con le bande bianche un po' più estese.
