Un itinerario molto suggestivo all'interno di Terracina è quello che conduce al grandioso taglio roccioso chiamato Pisco Montano che venne eseguito in epoca romana ai piedi di Monte S. Angelo, l'arditissima e caratteristica rupe calcarea, alta quasi 100 m, alla quale si appoggia la Porta Napoletana. Lo scopo era quello di consentire il passaggio della via Appia in prossimità del mare per evitare un percorso tortuoso e ancora oggi nella roccia si possono vedere i grandi numeri romani che indicano l'altezza del taglio. Sulla roccia sono inoltre visibili i ruderi di un piccolo posto di guardia medievale, la cosiddetta casa di Nastrilli, mentre al di là della porta, nella parete rocciosa, è scavata una nicchia rettangolare con l'ingresso fiancheggiato da due colonnette e sormontato da una piccola cornice: si dice sia un antichissimo tempio del Sole.
