Al centro della Marienplatz (Piazza di Maria) di Monaco di Baviera, si erge una colonna che porta una statua in bronzo della Vergine. Maria é la "Patrona Bavariae“ il patrono protettore della Bavaria. La rappresentazione qui presentata é quella classica della Madonna di Loreto, con quindi Gesú bambino in braccio e i piedi sulla mezza luna. Nel 1639 vi furono aggiunti dei putti allegorici in riferimento al Salmo 91 Verso 13 "Super aspidem et basiliscum ambulabis et leonem et draconem conculcabis“ La colonna rappresentava anche il centro geografico della regione e tutte le strade che partivano da esso, avevano qui il loro zero metrico. Storia: Nella guerra dei trent'anni, il principe Maximilian I fece voto di lasciar erigere un'opera che "piacesse a Dio“ se Monaco e Landshut si fossero salvati dalle truppe devastatrici svedesi. La cittá di Monaco venne conquistata ma il re svedese Gustavo II Adolfo, rifiutó la richiesta dell'esercito di distruggere Monaco di Baviera come vendetta per la distruzione della cittá di Magdeburgo. Si parló quindi di "miracolo di Monaco“ e il principe Massimiliano provvide a mantenere il suo voto e lasció erigere la colonna in marmo. La collonna Mariana fu consaccrata il 7 novembre 1638. Per l'occasione, il principe Maximilian pronunció: "Rem regem regimen regionem religionem conserva Bavaris, Virgo Patrona, tuis!“ Durante la seconda guerra mondiale la statua fu custodita nella chiesa di "nostra Signora“ nel 1945 fu riposta sulla colonna. Nel 1970 la colonna originale é stata sostituita da una copia e la statua ha ricevuto una nuova placca in oro. Alla base della colonna, é stata incisa la data della visita di Papa Giovanni Paolo II e Papa Benedetto XVI. Sullo scatto: si tratta di uno scatto datato ed effettuato con la 550D nel novembre del 2011. Era una fredda serata novembrima ed ero giá in partenza, quando ripassando da questa bella piazza vidi che stava calando la nebbia. Arrivato al di sotto della colonna alzai ancora una volta lo sguardo verso di lei, Maria che come nostra mamma celeste merita ogni rispetto. Mi avvidi che era avvolta dalla nebbia, mi é sembrata la Madunina di Milano e che lo sfondo del palazzo del municipio conferiva ad essa un'atmosfera meravigliosa. Fu uno scatto senza pretese, avevo un cavalletto che peró non era un granché e avevo le mani gelate che mi portarono alla decisione di effettuare uno scatto a mano libera.
