Più che lo scatto vorrei raccontare la storia che ha portato a questa foto e le enormi emozioni che mi ha regalato. Io e la mia ragazza decidiamo di fermarci per la notte presso la zona di Makalia Falls, sperando di trovare una buona area per il campeggio. Una volta arrivati ci accorgiamo che essendo fuori stagione eravamo gli unici campeggiatori (e turisti) della zona. Con un po di timore montiamo la tenda, nel frattempo diversi animali ci passano a pochi metri (bufali, babbuini, impala...). Una volta preparato il cibo ci mettiamo a dormire. La notte nella savana è incredibile.. ogni rumore è amplificato di 1000 volte... ad un certo punto un fortissimo ruggito mi sveglia nel cuore della notte... il re era vicino... è stato il rumore più forte che abbia mai sentito... il cuore mi è schizzato in gola, il sudore è sceso a fiotti... per l'ansia e la paura ho quasi vomitato! Non mi sono mai sentito tanto vivo e allo stesso tempo così in pericolo in tutta la mia vita... Passata indenne la notte esco dalla tenda con circospezione.. accendo la macchina eeeeee.... non parte.. batteria a terra... Purtroppo in 2 persone un land cruiser è difficile da spingere così attendiamo il passaggio di qualche ranger... nel frattempo la prima luce si mostra e con essa anche una simpatica famiglia di babbuini... Li ho osservati diverse ore nell'attesa di aiuto, potendomi avvicinare parecchio... questo scatto più che il momento in se mi ricorda le 12 ore precedenti...
