La miniera di Seddas Moddizis è posta in un basso altopiano oltre la catena di basse colline che separa Iglesias da Gonnesa. Il complesso minerario è composto dal villaggio "Asproni", dai cantieri di estrazione, dalle due laverie (la vecchia e la nuova), da due grandi forni di calcinazione.Il villaggio "Asproni" prende il nome dall'ingegnere che ha guidato la miniera per lunghi anni tra Ottocento e Novecento.In tutti gli edifici del villaggio, sia quelli privati che quelli funzionali alla miniera, numerosi sono i camini.Il gusto, lo stile, la ricercatezza mutano da edificio a edificio.
