Hemingway qui non c'entra, ma rubo il titolo di uno dei suoi romanzi. Nel loro incessante peregrinare da un luogo all'altro, in cerca di acqua e di cibo, branchi di elefanti di ogni dimensione emergono all'improvviso dalla foresta, attraversano il fiume Shingwedzi, e scompaiono tra gli alberi dall'altra parte. In fila, disciplinati, la matriarca davanti e i più piccoli in mezzo. Uno spettacolo che non mi stancherò mai di ammirare.
