Una foto qualunque ma per noi di Konkamoya con un grande significato. Questi due giovani maschi di 13-14 anni sono stati espulsi dal gruppo familiare a Aprile e hanno deciso di eleggere a loro domicilio i dintorni del lodge. Inizialmente erano timidi, piuttosto aggressivi e ci caricavano praticamente tutte le volte che ci trovavamo sul loro percorso. Col tempo hanno preso confidenza con il personale e i clienti del lodge al punto che ora possiamo passare a qualche metro di distanza e loro senza che ci degnino di un solo sguardo. Ormai si sentono così al sicuro tra di noi che ieri all'ora di pranzo hanno deciso di permettersi un pisolino nel mezzo del giardino del lodge pur con otto chiassosi clienti e i ragazzi dello staff, impegnati nelle loro mansioni, che passavano a pochi metri di distanza. Una vera soddisfazione per tutti noi pensare che siamo riusciti a stabilire un qualche tipo di relazione con due elefanti che rimangono in tutto e per tutto animali selvatici.
