HFG1 è stata scoperta nel 1982 da Heckathorn, Fesen e Gull. Prende vita grazie a V664 Cas, una stella di 14,5 mag, un sistema stellare binario composto da una nana bianca e una stella simile al sole che ruota l'una attorno all'altra ogni 14 ore in una distanza di pochi milioni di chilometri. Essa produce una coda rossa di gas di circa 10.000 anni. La Abell 6 è una nebulosa più classica come la più famosa "bolla". La sua emissione è più forte in OIII rispetto alla banda dell'idrogeno, con un diametro di quasi 3 minuti d'arco. Rappresentano per me gli oggetti più difficili e deboli da riprendere ed elaborare. Necessitano di maggiore integrazione e condizioni migliori rispetto alla tanta umidità delle due nottate in cui sono state riprese.
