Just because it's a macro you have a reduced pdc so you always have to reason based on what you have available as a subject. In this case, in my opinion, you should have anticipated the maf a little and closed the diaphragm more trying to get as sharp as possible what the drop lets glimpse inside it.
In principle, if you are not looking for creative photos, these types of lenses allow you to highlight the details of the subjects taken into account.

Thanks Pigi :) what I wanted to achieve with this shot was an artistic photo. Surely I could have focused the drop better but the rest I wanted it to be blurry. What I realized, of course, is that at the minimum focus distance with a 1:1 ratio it is not trivial to get a fair MAF. In any case, this was one of the first shots just arrived the goal and I am sure I will have a lot of time to improve.
