La Lagonda M 45 Rapide...visibile nella fotografia... è una variante della versione Cabriolet e venne così preparata per partecipare alla 24 Ore di Le Mans edizione del 1935... in cui al termine risultò vittoriosa. La vettura fu pure costretta ad una seconda partenza... in quanto dopo la prima era rimasta coinvolta in un incidente. In quella gara Johnny Hindmarsh e Luis Fontès percorsero 3.010 chilometri alla media di oltre 125 chilometri orari. La Lagonda Rapide fu prodotta dal 1933 al 1939 in circa 850 esemplari allestiti in differenti versioni: berlina a 4 porte e... turismo, coupé e cabriolet a 2 porte... tutte dotate di propulsore a 6 cilindri in linea di 4467 cm3 con differenti potenze ed elaborazioni in base alla versione su cui venivano impiegati. Fondata nel 1906... dal 1947 la Lagonda è stata integrata nella Aston Martin.
