48 minuti. 48 minuti di salita tra rocce,polvere,rigagnoli acquitrinosi,fango e pozze; e più salivi e più la salita diventava ripida, e più eri vicino alla meta e più il vento ti spingeva giù come se la montagna non ti accettasse. Si sa, i posti in primafila te li devi guadagnare, ma per la prima volta ho pensato: <basta mi fermo e riscendo>, <basta sono troppo affannato>, <e se durante la discesa fa buio e non trovo più il sentiero per il ritorno?> Sono stati tutti pensieri che mi son passati per la testa mentre salivo. Tre passi e riposavo, due passi e riposavo, e pian piano salivo portandomi con il busto in avanti e con le mani spingevo sulle ginocchia respirando solo con la bocca. 48 minuti dopo son arrivato dove mi ero prefissato e durante la salita ho sempre dato le spalle al paesaggio perché volevo vederlo solamente da la sù. Quando mi son girato è stato come un sipario che si apriva davanti i miei occhi e lo spettacolo era uno scenario da perdifiato; 48 minuti ci son voluti per tornare indietro di milioni di anni. Dinanzi a me un paesaggio preistorico fatto di montagne levigate dal tempo,laghi e verdi prati come se nessuno li avesse mai calpestati. Il vento da nemico era diventato un alleato e soffiava rinfrescandomi. Ho scattato per quasi un'ora completamente solo nella valle dello Storr e prima che il buio sostituisse la luce ho ripercorso i 48 minuti di discesa sotto un nubifragio. Rifarei ogni singolo passo fatto in quei 48 minuti, e se proprio devo esser sincero nonostante la stanchezza del giorno prima e la consapevolezza di cosa mi aspettasse, l'ho rifatto anche l'indomani, fotografando un tramonto indimenticabile……(to be continue)…..
