Classico panorama notturno della città di Gordes, un bellissimo borgo antico del sud della Francia, che rimane arroccato sul bordo meridionale dell'alto Plateau de Vaucluse, regione Provenza-Alpi-Costa Azzurra. La pietra è l'elemento principale del paese: i suoi edifici sono infatti costruiti con questo materiale e quasi sovrapposti proprio come le pietre che delimitano le proprietà lungo la strada. A dominare è quindi una disordinata armonia di una pietra con tonalità dal giallo al beige che si illumina d'oro con il sole del mattino e del tramonto. La vista da sud è uno dei panorami più suberbi della Provenza, dove Gordes è circondato dai campi e dai villaggi arroccati sul Massiccio del Luberon. A vegliare sul paese e la vallata sottostante è il castello edificato tra l'XI e il XVI secolo che svetta imponente sulla città e la vallata.
