La messa a fuoco è sul primo piano, faccio molto spesso questo tipo di scatti in verticale con soggetto in primo piano, mentre uso spesso la tecnica da te evidenziati quando ho differenze tra l'esposizione in primo piano e lo sfondo , (ho per esempio una foto in questa galleria con ben 4 esposizioni, quella della baia con il sole frontale) ma credo non fosse questo il caso viste le condizione atmosferiche, l'apertura del diaframma a F16 con messa a fuoco sul primo piano garantiva di avere la foto a fuoco.
Il ghiaccio in primo piano era immerso nell'acqua e quindi non molto ben definito forse è questo il motivo per cui hai avuto questa sensazione.
