Finalmente sono riuscito a fotografare questa bella farfalla, difficile sia da avvicinare e sia nella gestione dei colori per la presenza delle ampie macchie bianche. Limenitis camilla (Linné, 1764) Famiglia: Nymphalidae Sottofamiglia: Limenitidina Apertura alare: Da 4,3 a 5,2 cm. Distribuzione in Italia: Localizzata, ma presente in tutta l'Italia settentrionale e in alcune zone della penisola dall'Emilia al Lazio. Habitat: Boschi chiari e radure dalla pianura a 1000 m. Periodo di volo: Normalmente univoltina da fine maggio a tutto luglio, ma può presentare in località e anni particolari una seconda generazione parziale con periodo di volo da metà agosto a metà settembre. Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Lonicera xylostemum e altre specie del genere Lonicera. Dimorfismo sessuale: Femmina simile al maschio, ma di dimensioni leggermente maggiori. Sull'ala posteriore all'angolo tra bordo esterno e bordo interno, gli ultimi due punti neri sono contornati da piccoli anelli color ruggine. In molte femmine vi è l'accenno a cerchietti di color ruggine anche all'apice dell'ala anteriore. Variazioni Le varie razze locali possono presentare sulle ali la banda chiara più o meno larga.
