Un viaggio iniziato a Tours e terminato a Parigi, passando per la Bretagna, la Normandia ed alcune tra le maggiori città del nord-ovest della Francia, mi ha condotto a Chartres nella cui cattedrale, Notre-Dame di Chartres, Il 27 febbraio 1594 fu incoronato Re di Francia Enrico IV (la famosa frase «Parigi val bene una messa.» venne pronunciata da lui, protestante, convertito al cattolicesimo in vista della sua incoronazione). In questa magnifica cattedrale ho visto queste due donne indiane pregare davanti al crocifisso: il colore rosso dei loro abiti, l'ambiente scuro che le circondava, le vetrate finemente decorate, hanno creato una perfetta definizione di "pellegrinaggio", visto che Chartres si trova su uno dei tanti cammini per raggiungere Santiago de Compostela.
