Niente da dire invece sulle tue qualità, un po' rovinate in questo caso dall'obiettivo, che anche se moltiplicato non è riuscito a essere all'altezza. La cosa è ovviamente visibile nel link ad alta risoluzione, anche se suppongo non sia la risoluzione del raw originale.

Buonasera Mediamenta, nel link è riportato un jpeg a 6mpx, più che sufficiente per apprezzare i dettagli in questa immagine.
Per la mia esperienza, questo e tutti i super tele (fissi top inclusi) risentono sempre molto della qualità dell'aria (foschia, effetti dovuti al calore e chi più ne ha più ne metta...).
Fatta questa premessa, che va quindi a ridurre le prestazioni percepite di tutti i tele, quello che ho notato nel mio G2 e in tutti gli altri zoom molto lunghi -oltre i 500mm- (eccetto 60-600 e sony 200-600, non li ho provati perchè quando comprai il mio g2 questi non erano ancora usciti) è che le prestazioni calano anche in funzione della distanza dal soggetto, come hai notato te il gruccione è venuto meglio rispetto a queste marmotte ed in generale riscontro spesso questa tendenza.
Per quanto mi riguarda in liveview non ho mai notato i problemi che citi, se usi il liveview a mano libera però, le vibrazioni potrebbero essere dovute allo stabilizzatore, quando tu ti muovi oltre alle sue capacità lui si riassesta verso il suo centro, se scatti in quel momento la foto risultante viene come mossa... questo può essere! Altrimenti il tuo esemplare potrebbe avere qualche problema allo stabilizzatore? Per come lo descrivi non saprei, visto che non mi è mai capitato.
Sicuramente se ti serve usare lo stabilizzatore ti conviene settare la levetta sulla modalità "priorità di scatto", ovvero lo stabilizzatore entra in azione solo durante lo scatto, senza stabilizzare "il mirino" (che sacrificherebbe le performance di stabilizzazione durante lo scatto appunto...).
