I got to your profile after saying your samyang review. Specifically, what didn't satisfy you with the sharpness? Do you speak in general or in reference to the sigma art that I see you have used in other shots?
I'm interested in buying the 14mm samyang, tried years ago and didn't get me excited but I had an old 5D without live view... I'd like to give him a new chance.... if I ever go back to photographing the aurora!

Comunque...
Parlo in generale, perché quando avevo acquistato questa lente Samyang ai tempi non ero un esperto della fotografia. Sennò avrei preso direttamente il Sigma.
Ma poi col tempo ho dato un'occhiata al Sigma... così ho deciso di prendere (ho preso infatti due: Sigma 14 1.8 Art e Sigma 14-24 2.8 Art) senza parole, altro pianeta. Ok che i costi sono proibitivi ma... garantiscono una qualità incredibile. Però confermo che Samyang, nonostante il prezzo e la sua leggerezza, non mi ha soddisfatto del tutto. Perché ho fatto pure un confronto. Una foto fatta con Samyang e l'altra con Sigma. Risultato? Sigma 100 punti vs 1 punto del Samyang.
Guarda attentamente questa foto, a lato sinistro, destro e in basso ci sono le stelle sfocate e poca nitidezza, mentre al centro e lato sopra dell'immagine direi OK. Questo conferma che il messa a fuoco non è molto preciso. Col Sigma tutta nitidissima, messa a fuoco precisissimo, qualità altissima. Peccato che, quando ero in Cile per l'eclissi solare totale del luglio scorso, ho fotografato la Via Lattea ad Atacama con questo Samyang... Bel risultato, grazie al buio totale e zero inquinamento luminoso, ma non sono soddisfatto molto, perché se avessi usato il Sigma al posto di Samyang... la foto sarebbe uscita forse mostruosa.

So photos were taken with Sigma. You will see with your own eyes the difference in sharpness, quality, colors etc. :-)
