Anni 40-50, tempi già lontani per la mia generazione e remoti per le nuove. Internet, smartphone, social, centri commerciali, TV, non esisteva niente, a volte non c'era neanche da mangiare, soprattutto al sud, e i più intraprendenti emigravano all'estero in cerca di lavoro e fortuna. Abbiamo ricevuto in dono da mio suocero questo meraviglioso album di fotografie ricavato da un vecchio campionario di stoffe. Ai tempi non si buttava via nulla, si riciclava e si comperava solo l'indispensabile. Nell'album ci sono bellissime fotografie, molte delle quali di parenti emigrati in America e inviate in Italia per tenere vivi i contatti, mostrare le nuove famiglie, condividere gli eventi importanti e per dare evidenza del benessere raggiunto. Quasi tutte le foto riportano una data sul retro come si usava allora, alcune anche una dedica scritta in italiano incerto, o in inglese. Altri tempi.
