Nell'autunno 2003 tornai a NYC con moglie e bimbo piccolo avendo prenotato online (all'epoca quasi una novità) un albergo che sembrava molto bello a prezzo molto contenuto distante solo tre isolati da lì.
Arrivati a sera dopo un volo stancante anche per il bimbo che voleva andare su e giù per il corridoio senza darci tregua, arrivammo in taxi a quell'hotel che scoprimmo gestito da cinesi.

L'indomani ero a fianco del toro di Wall Street dove, tra il frastuono di una sirena e l'altra, da un telefono appeso ad un muro esterno in strada, ho chiamato l'ufficio prenotazioni e sono riuscito a farmi riaccreditare le notti non fruite presso i cinesi occulti, salvo la prima considerata persa; almeno ho tamponato un poco il ben maggior costo della stanza vista Chrysler  |
