La forra è di dimensioni ridotte e la particolarità è data dalla forma, dagli strati calcarei marmorei e soprattutto dai colori tra il rosso, il bianco e il grigio verde. Gli strati più chiari sono costituiti da sabbie calcaree cementate, mescolate a frammenti di gusci di invertebrati marini, mentre la colorazione rosso mattone deriva dalla presenza nei sedimenti di piccolissime quantità di ossido di ferro.
