Ochlodes sylvanus (Esper, 1777) – Famiglia Hesperiidae Sottofamiglia Hesperiinae - Apertura alare: Da 2,8 a 3,3 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutte le regioni ad eccezione della Sardegna. - Habitat: Prati, ampie radure e incolti, dal livello del mare sino a 1800 m. - Periodo di volo: Polivoltina da metà maggio a metà luglio e da metà agosto a settembre. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Varie graminacee tra cui quelle dei generi Luzula, Dactylis, Triticum, Poa, Avena e Holcus. - Dimorfismo sessuale: Femmina più grande e senza i vistosi stigmi androconiali neri sul diritto delle ali anteriori del maschio, inoltre con macchie chiare sul rovescio un po' più evidenti. - Variazioni: Sia i maschi che le femmine possono presentare il diritto delle ali con disegni più chiari o più scuri. - Specie simili: Hesperia comma con disegni chiari molto più marcati.
