Vettura dedicata al pilota Stirling Moss e dotata di motore V8 di 5439 cm3 con turbo compressore erogante 650 CV per raggiungere i 350 chilometri orari di velocità massima: da 0 a 100 in 3,5 secondi. Fu prodotta in soli 75 esemplari e solo in versione barchetta in quanto non possiede nessun tipo di capote. Ha solo uno striminzito parabrezza diviso in due e leggermente più avvolgente dal lato conduttore. Il prezzo di acquisto era di 750 mila euro. Per poter entrare nella lista dei possibili acquirenti di questa SLR McLaren Stirling Moss bisognava già essere in possesso di almeno una delle 1502 Mercedes Benz McLaren costruite in differenti versioni. Foto scattata alla 1000 Miglia 2017... 90° edizione e 35° di quella rievocativa. Sir Stirling Craufurd Moss, classe 1929... a cui è dedicata questa vettura... è stato un pilota inglese attivo in Formula 1 dal 1950, 1° anno del Campionato del Mondo Costruttori, al 1962. In carriera vinse 16 Gran Premi ma mai il Campionato del Mondo dove invece si classificò 2° per 4 volte: nel 1955 al volante di una Daimler Benz, nel 1956 su Maserati e negli anni 1957 e '58 su Vanwall. Un suo famoso motto era: "È meglio perdere con onore su una vettura inglese che vincere con una vettura straniera"... difatti se si escludono le stagioni 1955-56 in cui era stato al volante di Mercedes Benz e Maserati... Moss aveva gareggiato su Alta, Cooper, ERA, HW, Jaguar, Lotus e Vanwall.
