Fotografare occhioni qui a Roma è quasi come vincere un terno al lotto, specie in grande declino perché non trova piú habitat a lui congeniali. La cementificazione ed anche l'agricoltura aggressiva con trebbiatrici che sfalciano a zero durante i periodi di cova, hanno fatto scegliere a questi simpatici uccelli altri lidi. Un tentativo estremo lo avevano pure fatto, fino a 2 anni fa si erano adattati a deporre le loro uova sull' asfalto di un vecchio parcheggio abbandonato in mezzo a rifiuti di ogni genere, poverini, poi ci furono carotaggi e andarono via pure da li. Lo scorso anno abbiamo avuto un solo avvistamento di una coppia. Quest' anno abbiamo tre individui, un maschio e due femmine, presumibilmente la coppia dello scorso anno con la giovane figlia, che hanno nidificato lungo un fosso in secca confinante un campo abbandonato.
Ai consensi in questo caso penso poco, ancora mi tremano le gambe, era un soggetto che sognavo e volevo raggiungere lo scopo da solo ( in realtá lo abbiamo raggiunto in coppia, con l' impagabile Marco Venanzi che ha saputo tenere alto il morale anche in periodi estremamente difficili ).
Il big dream rimane il gobbo rugginoso, specie estinta in Italia, ma che ho mancato di un soffio 2 anni fa, transito di una femmina durato 1 giorno, io ero li il giorno prima e quello dopo
