Irlanda del Nord - isola di Rathlin: oltre alle più famose e ricercate pulcinella di mare (puffin) , offre la possibilità di osservare numerose altre specie marine introvabili dalle nostre parti. Sulle scogliere a picco sul mare nidificano gazze marine, urie, gabbiani tridattili e fulmari in quantità (fortunatamente) industriale, facendo in modo che una piccola e quasi sconosciuta isoletta nel mare del nord, sia molto gettonata, in modo controllato e rispettoso, da parte di coloro che vogliono godere dello stupendo spettacolo che ci offre in ogni occasione la natura. A poche decine di metri dal porto una trentina di foche grigie si crogiolavano al sole incuranti dei bipedi seduti sulla riva ad ammirarle.
