Primo giorno del mio viaggio in solitaria per i paesi del Caucaso, di ritorno dalla visita del parco del Qobustan, poco fuori Baku. Nel parco è presente uno dei più antichi siti di incisioni rupestri e alcuni vulcani di fango (una chicca per un geologo come me). La sera prima riesco a mettermi d'accordo con il receptionist dell'ostello per un passaggio un macchina, ma il prezzo mi sembra troppo caro, così decido di utilizzare i mezzi pubblici. Purtroppo dei lavori in corso mi costringono a cambiare i miei piani in corsa e devo contrattare un passaggio con un taxista dall'aspetto quantomeno losco. E' l'unico in quella piazzola in mezzo al deserto dove arriva il bus, per cui riesce a spillarmi un prezzo non proprio di favore. Al ritorno la sua guida è spericolatissima, è tutto intento a mandare messaggi sul suo smartphone, tra l'altro vuole riportarmi nella medesima piazzola nel deserto da cui siamo partiti invece che in città. Devo dargli altri 10 euro per farmi portare in questa splendida moschea ai confini della città
